Android had become the cellular marketplace share front runner with 51.6% whilst iOS fell behind with 46.5%. While RIM averaged around 1.5% of the mobile market, Windows maintained 1.5% of the share. This alteration in statistics can be due to the increase in the amount of buyers throughout the christmas season. With smartphones increasingly becoming fashionable gifts, the recorded increase in sales is remarkable.

A significant cause for this achievement is the convenience and freedom that Android features.
