Review: Perfect Uninstaller and Revo Uninstaller Free Demos

Many software removal applications on the internet often claim to be free or have a free version..

However be cautious of Greeks bearing gifts; or in this case free removal software that isn't really free at all. One of the more common software removal programs on the internet is Perfect Uninstaller which indeed does its job very well after you register the product. If you go to their main site you will see a "Free Demo Download" button. Be careful however, a number of bootleg versions and promotional websites exist that show a "Free Download" button!

While the downloading process might be free, in order for your registry to be cleaned up, required to remove complex apps like iTunes, you must invest over $39 to turn on the registry clean up feature in the "demo". In fact without registration, Perfect Uninstaller just uses the application's uninstaller only. Only after scanning your entire PC does a popup tell you to register the software. Maybe your watching the scanning process is what PU considers to be a demo!

There are better choices if you are looking for an uninstaller demo version that is really free. Revo Uninstaller demo version for instance does remove registry entries in the free demo. It will do full registry cleaning at various levels of depth cleaning up latent registry entries.

Perfect Uninstaller does in fact do a very good job once you register the product. We want to be clear about that. Just be sure you understand that for the registry clean up function to work you must purchase the software... It's possible that the claims of "Free Download" found on a number of these PU promotional websites are just telling you that they are not charging you for downloading the demo! Very cagey marketing !

You can find both utility software at the links to their websites below... Most importantly... you should compare and check for yourself:

Can't uninstall iTunes?

We have mentioned iTunes as one application that is very difficult to uninstall properly without registry clean up. It has some very difficult modules to uninstall along with the core program. See this : http://howtouninstallitunes.com for more details. iTunes is one example of how complex current leading edge software has become. With this complexity sometimes comes a very real challenge during the removal process.

The solution for example reviewed on the How To Uninstall iTunes website describes the complexity but offers a solution along with screen-shots and step by step instructions on how to uninstall itunes. iTunes is one of the most problematic applications judging from the number of comments on the original article and from extensive Google research. This website strictly provides help uninstalling iTunes and is a case in point on the changing complexity of massive sofware installations from software firms such as Apple, Microsoft, Adobe and others.
